Understanding your North Perth block
The inner north sits on Perth’s old chain of lakes and wetlands. Hyde Park, a short walk from North Perth, was once a lake, and the ground varies from street to street: sand over clay, with lower and former-wetland pockets that carry shallow groundwater, and established lots that can hold fill.
